MOE syllabus alignment
Fully aligned to the MOE Primary 4 English Language syllabus (STELLAR-based). Reading and comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, writing and oral communication are taught to MOE expectations and exam formats, so the work supports school assessments directly.
What we cover at Primary 4
- Tenses in depth: past perfect, future forms, and consistency of tense across a passage
- Sentence structure: complex sentences with subordinate clauses (when, although, while)
- Grammar MCQ areas: prepositions, connectors, pronouns, determiners, question tags
- Vocabulary building: prefixes, suffixes, root words, collocations and idioms
- Comprehension: literal and inferential questions, plus vocabulary-in-context items
- Answering technique: lifting keywords from the question and answering in full sentences
- Composition: a full multi-paragraph narrative with dialogue and descriptive detail
- Situational writing basics: informal email and short letter format
- Oral: reading aloud for phrasing, and stimulus-based conversation with developed answers

From 21 Nov, lessons shift to School Year Prep for the next level (P1 prepares for P2, P6 prepares for Secondary 1, and so on) — same class, same slot, no separate signup.

Common FAQ
Compositions are just a list of events. How do you fix that?
By teaching structure — build-up, climax, resolution — plus dialogue and descriptive detail, planned before writing begins.
Grammar MCQs are the weakest section.
We test the specific bands — prepositions, connectors, determiners, question tags — and reteach only the ones failing.
Is P4 too early to think about PSLE?
P4 language is directly assumed at P5 and P6. Closing gaps now is far cheaper than closing them in PSLE year.
How many children are in one class?
Five. Primary 4 classes are capped at 5 students so the teacher can speak to your child by name in every session. We only stretch to 7 when a student joins for a make-up lesson.
